I am writing to extend our deepest heartfelt sympathy to you and your family for your loss. Please accept our belated condolences. Despite everything, I felt I had to write just as soon as I read about this on the internet. I never had the good fortune to meet Prof. Dawood, nor did I ever think I would. But from his obituary, I have learned that he was a great intellectual, a committed family man and a good human being. We are all poorer for the loss. He has left his mark on numerous areas, and will always be remembered for his good work. I cannot express my sadness to read of his passing. I hope that time and memories will help lessen the burden of your sorrow, and that you may draw some measure of comfort knowing that others care and share in your loss.
